All my email is down and I forgot your adrresses

Dear Family,
Its been a dandy of a week. I think for you as well. Good luck to all the brothers and sister with the tests. Tomorrow we have zone conference and we will be talking about the three ways to study scriptures as was taught to us by Elder Bednad: 1) from cover to cover 2)digging in by topic and 3) finding patterns, connections, and the etc. . .We are focusing on extending better commitments to our investigators when they study so that the scriptures will be more alive to them. We are kind of using the analogy of give a man a fish; teach a man to fish as was also mentioned by Elder Bednar. For me it is like this. We can give our investigators a book of Mormon and just ask them to read which is kind of like giving someone who has never fished a pole and saying get on with it, or we can give them some lures and bait and send them over to the river side and teach them how. This we do by giving commitments that will help people study the scriptures and make them come alive- maybe by suggesting them to underline certain key points or words or other scripture study techniques. Elder Bednar shed so much light for me on this and so actually I am really excited about it. President asked us to talk about this more, but I feel like it is all coming to gether. Our presentation is going to try to be modeled after the way Elder Bednar taught us. We are going to seek participation and ideas. We already asked everyone to talk for a minute about what they do in their personal study to make the scriptures come alive for them. Ill tell you next week how it all turned out. As for the work in our are- it is picking up. We had some great meetings this week. Our best was probably with Turbek. He is from Tajikistan and is doing all he can to learn more about the church through a small language barrier (he doesnt know Russian, and isnt perfect in English) but he so strongly wants to keep the commandments. When he prays he prays like the King of the Lamanites who gave up all his sins to know God. Turbek is giving up tea and coffee and is trying his best to read the book of Mormon. In fact it was almost funny when this week we challenged him again to pray to know if the BoM is true. We challenged him that before but he didnt mention it in the prayer afterwards like we asked him to, so this time we said make sure you actually ask God if it is true or not so that you can not, and basically (because he has the heart of a child) he told us that he just didnt know if that was respectful or not because it is scripture to ask God that. He already believes. Every time we tell him a commandment he even prays that those around him like his family will also be able to live that and he promises to God that he will. It was very humbling to hear his prayers. He is a good example for me. Also we were at Idalos and gave him a lesson and at the end a blessing of health because he wasnt feeling to good. Like usual he had three friends there and they all got quiet and watch and were very respectful. We are bringing three book of Mormons next time in French, Arabian, and Russian. Funny thing there is that they all speak a little English and a little Russian. We also did a family Home Evening at Sashas trying to make friends with his brothers a little and so we brought a guitar and played some songs with the other ELders. It was a little smoky after the angry neighbor came in but we were friendly. It is definitely progress because before us Sasha in all his 7 years of being a member never let the missionaries come over except for four times to me in the kitchen only. Tomorrow we are also having a zone Christmas party and I will probably have to be the pianist as they have asked me to being the only person in the zone to play I think. My skills are coming back a little becuase I play in church sometimes when they ask me and also for priesthood. We are also still doing the remodeling at Viktor and Natashas and they came to church last week. We were happy about that. I also gave the lesson in Gospel Principles on obedience. I think God has been trying to teach me obedience for a long time, and I am way greatful for that and for the patience of my parents and mentors. I am still learning. I am also excited that soon will be Christmas, but I am honestly just as excited about the work. I am definitely learning to love missionary work and especially my lovely family.

The Family that lives in Disneyland to fill the space in there heart that is missing while a boy is in Russia!

Here is Dad in his new sweet Indiana Jones Hat!! The Ride is still that amazing! This was a reinactment of a great moment in my life. Mom and Dad bought me this sweet hat at Disneyland, for college and in the middle of the Excellent Tower of Terror ride Joe turned to me and said, "I look top my eskimo friend"!
Yes, Yes, Yes; each of my good looking brothers have told me at least once that they wanted to be a males model, and yes, Ned has achieved that goal. . . . I mean look at that picture!
These are the two beautiful parents that made this trip possible! I love them so! Look at mom's great smile!

Boo!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM THE CRAZY COLLEGE DUO, JOE AND ELISE!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

So I went to the football game october 20th and it snowed on us like mad! It was beautiful and an adventure, but I was freezing! I am a pansy! I don't know how Will can deal with the bitter cold of Russia. . .that really is a miracle of the Lord.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Just thought you would all like to see some of my dorm's beautiful decorations!! If you look closely Not only do I have the magnificent musician Jack Johnson, but on my door hangs the studly soccer star David Beckham. Joe gave me a killers poster so I could add it to the excellent assortment of posters we have; including Austen's mr. darcy, a beach, our own artwork, and more.

INDIAN FEST!

So I went to an indian temple festival and partied it up with my friend Bree, while Joe was there with a date! It was way fun and I think Aswin woud be way proud of me. However, Bree and I both got hit on by a 15 year old (younger than NED!!!). It was sad, for us college girls. haha Well, I thought you would enjoy some of the pictures!

Good Books. Good Looks.

You would have never guessed that we had the Trial and Death of Socrates in our hands and neither of us had read our required reading for the week! Haha But we will be better next week! The discussion was amazing and the cake was just as good. (this was my first time coming!)

Here's two of my roommates and I in our fab kitchen!

This is a quote I found and really like and we in 1910 gates hall here are trying to live by it! "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children. . .to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a reedemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success."--Ralph Waldo Emerson

I thought I would lay down a little blog for the back to school season

Well Family,

Elise and Joe are going back to school, so it means that Ned has to take out all the trash cans. I thought I would just say good luck to Elise on going first time to college and to Joe and Ned on another year of schools.

I am having a great time here in St. Pete.

Love,

CLARK'S PROM (& Aswin's first date)

Okay, so here is the picture that mom has so graciously already shared with everybody I know. . .haha. . . Mostly I posted this in hopes that Will will be able to check out the blog. Boy, I look way cheesy here. . . explanation: At that very moment they took the picture Aswin was whispering to me under his breath, " My mom is going to kill me!" because our hands were touching and his hand was on my back. . . . hahaha. . .india has a WAY different culture. However, overall, the evening was a BLAST! Oh, don't you just love his outfit! It is awesome!

LIKE SUNDAY MORNINGS AFTER RAIN . . .

Here we (Elise & I) are proposing the beginning of a FAMILY Blog! The benefits, we suggest, are something close to what the title may evoke. Anything may be posted within the realm of class and . . . of course we'll let that statement stretch. . . like, pseudo-class would also be good. Do you remember when I sent you guys all those emails with wierd headers . . . I believe those were "semi pseudo class" AND I think that was alright. We are hoping that all of this (like Ive told some of you) will keep us up to date in a more hands on and lasting, journal-like way while Elise goes to college and everything else starts up. Everyone can do it and from anywhere that internet is available. You should all have read about all the basics by now. . . of course, please ask about any questions or things that you may be unsure of--maybe like how do I not over spend time on this or where did I put that picture of Joe where he is a Patrick Swazey look alike.

SO, we want to start us off, and since we've started this, we think we will . . . the rules include the subject material is whatever goes. . . skittles, and whatever as long as . . .
